Who is a Veteran?

“A Veteran is any person who is serving or has honorably served in the Canadian Armed Forces, the Commonwealth or its wartime allies, or as a Regular Member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or as a Peace Officer in a Special Duty Area or on Special Duty Operation, or who has served in the Merchant Navy or Ferry Command during wartime.”

Veterans Tribute

Sprinkle today with giggles & gratitude.

Feel the courage… the fear… the pain…

the rush in patriotic fortitude.

Canada had one-best shot at victory…

no win down without trust & comradery.

No tales today without grave vulnerability.

One by one & together,

soldiers stormed, death & weather…

driving it home thru hell & high waters…

6 long years & lifetimes of carnage.

carpets of red… plagued survivors.

A triumph shed for people & families.

A new promised land for freedom & happiness.

Praise our soil & our democracy.

Come together for Love & humanity.

One generation of building & progress…

steady rise in wealth per capita.

A nation built thru tenacious spirits

rest alone, survival of the fittest…

GNH, staid & challenged.

(Gross National Happiness)

As a senior tsunami clouds the horizon &

before we pass the baton on our legacy & environment…

please remember we do better together &

hearts sing by loving & respecting one another.

Remember we learn by listening &

agreeing to disagree is a positive,

in the honoring our differences.

Remember it is a privilege to be Canadian &

we are all equal among us.

Remember the Golden Rule &

only ‘do unto others as you would have them do unto you’.

Pause more than once a year at 11:00 &

give daily thanks to our soldiers & veterans &

never forget the joy dealt from faux holes & trenches.
