Who is a Veteran?

“A Veteran is any person who is serving or has honorably served in the Canadian Armed Forces, the Commonwealth or its wartime allies, or as a Regular Member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or as a Peace Officer in a Special Duty Area or on Special Duty Operation, or who has served in the Merchant Navy or Ferry Command during wartime.”

Second World War – 1,081,865 served, 44,927 killed, 53,145 wounded
Korea – 26,791 served, 516 killed, 1,558 wounded
Vietnam – (under US Forces) 12,000 served, 110 killed
UN Peacekeeping Missions – 125,000 served, 110 killed
The Gulf War – 4,074 served, no casualties
Afghanistan –  39,625 served, 158 killed, 1859 wounded
