Branch 71 Awards First Place for the Remembrance Day Poetry Contest
Cynthia Malner-Charest, High River Legion Branch 71 Poppy Committee Volunteer, (left) presents Sophia MacGregor (right) , grade 11, ecole Secondaire Highwood High School, with her First Place Senior Poetry Certificate and $50.00 Cash Award for placing in the Literary & Poster Contest sponsored by the High River Legion Branch 71. Sophia was presented with her Award in her English class; her First Place Poetry entry has moved to the next level of District judging. We are hoping for more good news!!
The High River Legion, Branch 71, is a non-profit organization that receives no financial assistance from outside agencies.
Through dues and fundraising activities legion branches assist veterans, their dependents and seniors and support local community initiatives. Volunteerism is the backbone of the High River Legion at all levels.
